Sounds like yyour trip is off to a great start. There is no substitute for experiencing our programs on-the-ground and in-action to realize the amazing transformation that takes place from intensive cross-cultural immersion. It is truly the World Learning (SIT & Experiment) model and our fabulous field staff that make our programs what they are.

Alewa! You hit the nail on the head. I have some very fond memories from my trip to Brazil in 2004. Alewa was a great leader, and I happy to see that she is still leading trips. The Experiment rocks!

My friend Marj and I did read Ishmael's “A Long Way Gone: Memoirs of a Boy Soldier,” and we were so touched as well. It is amazing to meet people like him, and i hope SIT will make it a point to bring him to school next year when we will be studying there.
Bottom line Ishmael, you need to keep up the spirit in you, so that younger boys in such circumstances can know they can overcome, mindless of the situation.
I wish my younger brother could meet you, but i guess Marj and I need to meet you first!

Hi Louise! It's wonderful that you're interested in traveling to Mongolia. I have no doubt that your bags are packed and you're ready to go! Unfortunately the Experiment is a high school program and we don't currently offer experiential programs for lifelong learners such as yourself. You may know about this already, but you might want to explore Elderhostel as an option to continue your travels to exotic and wonderful places. http://www.elderhostel.org/. Happy traveling!

Hi Louise,

It does sound like an amazing program doesn’t it! I know our Experimenters will love it. Unfortunately, our Experiment in International Living trips are only available to high school students. However, we've been considering doing adult/ alumni trips for some time now. I'll make sure to add Mongolia as a top destination...so please stay tuned. At the very least, we'll make sure to post some photos and stories from this summer's Mongolia trip so we can all live vicariously through our Experimenters.

Take care and thanks for the post!

Alum: Germany-Manheim, summer 1954
Is there an age limit?
I'm 78. People think I'm an early 60. Healthy- successful recovery from Br Ca. I would like to consider this trip next year. I've always wanted to go to Mongolia!
